A camera-based suggestion, not a measured RAL identification. Verify with a physical colour sample. Material and texture are confirmed by you, not detected from the photo.

Confirmed examples help rank later scans in this browser. Use the same camera and lighting for useful comparisons. Memory does not sync between devices; export it before clearing browser data.

How it works & camera limits

The largest connected non-white object is selected automatically. Tap a different object to change the selection. Up to 25 distributed patches are averaged; dots show the sampled areas. White-background exclusion is an estimate, not object recognition. White or reflective objects on white may be indistinguishable: use a contrasting background and tap the object, or verify physically. Avoid multiple objects, deep shadows and strong reflections.

The camera requests rear-facing video, 1.5× zoom, continuous torch and manual focus, exposure and white balance. Hardware zoom is used when reported; otherwise a 1.5× digital crop is applied. Only browser-confirmed manual modes are labelled locked. Unsupported or unconfirmed settings pause the automatic scan for your choice. Camera and torch stay on after capture until Stop, page hide or camera disconnection. The phone’s screen lock can still suspend the camera.

Matching compares the average recorded colour with 215 approximate digital RAL references and your explicitly confirmed examples. A close memory match is labelled as remembered, not verified for the current object. Material/texture are never inferred as fact. No calibration, Lab values, accuracy percentage or automatic acceptance decision.
